iTunes – Heads up to deeper innovation

Every big store either online or offline needs to stay up to date in order to survive in today’s global markets. Apple’s iTunes is following exactly the same course so as to keep pace with the dynamic industry they are in. In recent news, it says that the nine year old store is making up with its cloud computing services as well as tapping its hands on music tunes and social media. These changes will be displayed in the newer versions of iPhone and iPad by the end of this year; or so they promise.

Better iCloud Services

Since the details of this new face of iTunes is unavailable due to no responsiveness on the subject matter by Apple. But according to various news agencies the customers will be better able to share and contribute in the music scene, which was not entirely possible in the past. The reason may be the criticism of the copyrights holders who do not want to give their property completely to the customers as this might reduce their profit. This problem, however, has been deleted by the Apple store. Apple also plans to focus on a better integration of their back end operations such as iCloud. Research proves that Google, Amazon and Microsoft are doing a much better job in this area therefore Apple has to work on it harder.

Clashing with Competitors

Since the start of the store in 2003 iTunes have been keeping up with the demand of new types of music, videos and books, this trend however has increased exponentially within the last couple of years. The reason might be the emergence of new stores which are now in direct competition with iTunes. Another rationale may be the evolution of Samsung’s Galaxy and its alliance with Android stores. As of last year the Galaxy had outsmarted iPhone, and this happened to it for the first time. No wonder they are putting their effort to redraw the store. When it was launched iTunes only displayed music songs and people were happy with that now with more and more stores in the market people are also demanding some thing more, which can be seen in the current iTunes store, with TV shows, books, movies and apps encapsulating the music. And all this will be more easily and sophisticatedly available in the store by December; as expected. Some other unsatisfied services will also be eliminated by this time.

Rooting Out the Problems

Now with the fame of torrents technology where customers can download any kind of books, music and movies for free, iTunes was looking like a hundred year old typewriter. However competition should be seen as an opportunity and that is exactly what Apple did. There are some other improvements in social scene as well. Like in the past there was a problem of poor integration of Facebook and Twitter accounts, either the display was not working properly or the communication between the accounts was slow. Apple has rooted out his problem as well.

Apple’s Ping was supposed to the Facebook of music but an ironic kind of trouble emerged with it; it’s not quite social! It does not even communicate efficiently with other social giants. A person on Ping does not know who is on Facebook or Twitter or what they are doing or rating. Another problem that customers experienced was that Ping does not look good with iTunes and it should be isolated. It should be made into a proper social network. Some other difficulties also surfaced with graphical interface, functionalities and advertisements. Probably due to these reasons Apple has decided that Ping is not fun anymore and it should be removed from their services by the end of this year. With the competition increasing not only iTunes but the whole Apple industry is to be made more easily detectable and discoverable as opposed to the current working.
